Liver: A Brief Introduction

Liver is one of the largest organs in the human body placed at right side of the belly and weighted about 3 pounds. It is brown reddish in color. The Liver is basically divided into two sections, left and right lobe. Liver along with other organs like gall bladder pancreas and part of large intestine helps in digestion absorption and processing food.

Functions of the Liver

The main job of the liver is to filter the blood coming from the digestive way before passing it to the rest of the body. It also detoxifies the chemicals present in blood and metabolizes drugs. Another important function of the liver is that it secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. The liver is also responsible in the process of making proteins which is important for blood clotting and other functions.

Diseases caused due to malfunctions of the Liver

Medical disease are often related to each other or malfunctioning in one organ may effect other organs in our body. Following are the diseases or health issues according to doctors, are directly or indirectly associated with liver malfunctioning.

Garlic is a vital tool for liver cleanliness, just small amount of garlic helps in the activation of enzymes that help in flushing out toxins. Garlic also contains some compounds which provides aid in liver cleansing.

Vegetables

Vegetables especially with green leaves also provide boost up power to the liver, they can be taken raw cooked or juice. Vegetables are enrich with chlorophyll therefore they suck all the toxins from the blood stream. Vegetables also acts as a protective shield for the liver. Therefore always prefer vegetables like bitter gourd salad leaves spinach and cabbage.

Water

Drinking a lot of water is not only helpful for the liver but also for the whole body, water plays an important role in washing out the liver thus kept it clean by passing any waste material through urination. Drinking a lot of water keeps you hydrated and thus helps in regeneration of cells. It also allows the liver to filter out toxins and residue which helps in performance of the liver and increase energy level.
